Covid 60 day health challenge

Never in our lifetime has been more important for us to learn about healing nutrition and about our immune system. Let's get one thing clear. I believe the virus is real and very dangerous, especially for the unhealthy population. If your health is compromised in any way, shape or form, by all means you should take all necessary precautions. 

I tend to be more progressive when it comes to my health and the health of clients and I do not buy into all of the media hype. Just because it’s on the internet does not make it true, so I did my own research from reliable sources and decided to focus my efforts towards prevention.

I respect viral infections, but I do not fear it because I know my system can handle it. For all I know, my wife and I had COVID-19 early this year while traveling abroad. All the symptoms corresponded with the literature and it felt like I had the worst case of the flu for more than a week. A few of my family members got sick shortly after I left, but because of our intense attention to fitness and nutrition we all recovered using only over-the-counter holistic meds, rest and hydration.

 We all will most likely be exposed to the virus and we must prepare your bodies to fight off the viral infection. Wearing gloves, masks, surrounding yourself with toilet paper and waiting for a cure is not the answer. We are still 1-2 years away from a viable vaccine which is reported to be only 18% effective, and it is predicted that in less than 2 years over 80% of the world will be exposed to the COVID-19 virus. As the virus mutates, the vaccine may be worthless. 

For 3 million years, our ancestors have been developing antibodies that have passed on to each generation - giving us a robust immune system to fight viruses. Otherwise, the human race would have been wiped out a long time ago.There are over 300,000 harmful viruses in our planet and we are exposed to thousands of them on a daily basis. Guess what? It’s part of being a social being and exchanging viruses with one another and that's how we develop our immune system. If we take care of ourselves properly, we can trust our amazing body’s ability to fight viral infections and to heal naturally.  

According to the CDC and the American Health Association, these are the high risk groups most likely to be severely affected by the virus:

  • Over 70 years of age
  • Smoker
  • Diabetic
  • Overweight
  • Has a heart conditions
  • High blood pressure
  • Poor cardiovascular fitness
  • Poor nutrition
  • Take 3 or more prescription meds
  • Has a high stress life-style
  • Live in cities with high levels of air pollution

Here are the latest death rate percentages from COVID carriers by age group:

  • Under 39 0.2% 
  • 40-49 0.4%
  • 50-59 1.3 %
  • 60-69 3.6%
  • 70-79 8%.
  • 80-89 14.8%

Do you see the trend here? Outside of the aging population, those most affected have issues related to lifestyle and nutrition. Within the aging population, I have found that viruses of any kind have the most damaging effect on people with compromised bone marrow. If you have been consuming inflammatory foods all your life and have been on meds to cope with your poor lifestyle choices, your bone marrow may be inactive by the age of 60. Coincidentally, 60 and older is the population of most interest to pharmaceutical companies and our medical system. 

Why is bone marrow so important? 

Without going into a microbiology lesson here is the simple version.

Our bone marrow produces stem cells which are young cells not yet formed. Based on the body’s demand, the stem cells turn into three very important types of cells; red blood cells, clear blood cells (also known as platelets) and white blood cells. Red blood cells provide oxygen to the body's tissues and live 120 days. Platelets are coagulant colorless blood cells that create clots to stop bleeding and live 8-10 days. White blood cells are our soldier cells that fight viruses, are responsible for healing infections and here to protect your immune system - they live only 1-3 days.

If you kill your bone marrow, you can no longer produce healthy blood cells or antibodies. So, how do you reverse the damage of your bone marrow and create a healthy immune system?

The top bone marrow killers and immune system suppressors are inflammatory foods and medications. Here is the short list:

  • Glutens: Barley, oats, wheat, sorghum, rye and other whole grains  
  • Vegetable oils including mayonnaise 
  • Fried foods 
  • Nitrates and preservatives found in lunch and canned meats
  • Dairy products from cow’s milk
  • Alcohol in access
  • Processed foods
  • GMOs
  • Excessive consumption of simple sugars
  • Pain pills and prescription meds 

Let's talk about what the survivors and the asymptomatic people have in common, especially those who have tested positive for the coronavirus and have displayed very little or no symptoms:  

  • A healthy cardiopulmonary system
  • Nutrient rich nutrition
  • A strong immune system
  • An active lifestyle

These findings were regardless of age! So, why is the media focusing so much on a vaccine or a cure if we already have the answer? The only celebrities I hear talking about prevention are George Noory from Coast To Coast and Joe Rogan, but a few expert health professionals have made very strong points on the importance of enhancing our immune system and nutrition like:

  • Dr Rohnda Patrick, PHD Biochemist and Researcher, expert on nutritional health, brain and aging.  
  • Dr Joel Wallach, naturopathic physician, biomedical researcher and leading pioneer in the field of nutrition and supplements.
  • Ben Fuchs, nutritional pharmacist, anti aging, skin care and nutrition.

They all point out the importance of nutrition and supplements. 

My conclusion is that much of our protection against viruses are related to lifestyle and nutrition.

Eliminate all: 

  • Glutens
  • Vegetable oils
  • Preserved lunch meats
  • Dairy
  • Processed foods
  • GMOs
  • Soft drinks 
  • fruit juices

Limit the consumption of:

  • Alcohol and Pain pills
  • And consume a maximum of 1 tablespoon of sugar a day

These are the supplements I strongly recommend you add to your daily diet:

  • A high quality mineral complex, which is one of the most important supplements missing from our diets today
  • A high quality multivitamin
  • At least 500mg of turmeric
